From Day 1, we've been committed to providing vegan, non-toxic, and environmentally friendly hair care solutions, so we always feel compelled to celebrate Clean Beauty Month in a big way! That's why all month long, we're taking our commitment to the next level by planting an extra tree for every product sold, with the help of our partners, Trees for the Future. Our skin (including our scalp) is our largest organ, so what we put on it matters! Here's a quick rundown: conventional beauty products often contain harmful chemicals like parabens, sulfates, and phthalates, which can be detrimental to both our health and the environment and have been linked to serious health issues such as cancer, hormone disruption, and even reproductive harm. Who wants to put that on their scalp? Not us! Companies that prioritize clean beauty ingredients avoid these harsh chemicals, which makes their products better for our health, more eco-friendly, and less likely to irritate the skin or cause allergies. And not only that, but clean beauty brands are often more transparent about their ingredients and manufacturing processes, which helps consumers make more informed decisions about what they put on their bodies. So no, clean beauty is definitely not just a trend, as some may think! It’s here to stay.
Now, let’s take a look at the benefits of clean beauty, because they extend far beyond our individual health…clean beauty is also a big win for the environment! Many conventional beauty products are packaged in plastic, which can harm marine life and contribute to the global plastic problem. Plus, many ingredients found in traditional beauty products have been shown to have harmful effects on our planet. For example, synthetic fragrances are made with petrochemicals that can be toxic to both the environment and wildlife. By choosing clean beauty products, we can reduce the number of chemicals that enter the water system and the amount of waste we produce.
At Neuma, we take this idea very seriously, and our dedication to clean beauty and sustainability doesn't stop at the manufacturing process. We also prioritize responsible packaging by using post-consumer recycled plastic for our bottles and design them to be recyclable. And speaking of the planet, did you know that Neuma has a long-standing commitment to sustainability? In addition, for every product we sell, we plant one tree through our partnership with Trees for the Future. Year-round! These trees not only help combat climate change by absorbing carbon from the atmosphere, but they also help provide food, income, and resources to families in need. This month, we're planting an EXTRA tree for every product sold as a way to celebrate National Clean Beauty Month and highlight the importance of sustainability!
Now, let's talk about the power of plant-based ingredients. Our entire product line is free of 15 extremely harmful ingredients that are commonly found in hair care products (read our list of ingredients to avoid HERE), and instead, we use ingredients like plant extracts, vitamins, and minerals to nourish and improve hair health. Because we stand by the idea that our consumers deserve clean, high-quality haircare products that are good for their hair and the planet, we use only natural and renewable plant-based ingredients as well as 100% authentic essential oils as fragrance, which is pretty rare and a unique feature in this industry! These essential oils are derived from plants and offer a variety of therapeutic benefits, meaning that they not only smell amazing, but they can also improve mood, reduce stress, and provide antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties! And did we mention our products are cruelty-free and vegan haircare?!
